MIAMI, Sept. 10, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Avianca, an Abra Group member and one of the airlines providing the greatest connectivity in Latin America for more than 106 years, is continuing to elevate the travel experience for customers across its network, unveiling a series of enhancements designed to provide travelers with greater comfort, convenience, connectivity and choice.
The improvements span the airline's premium and Economy offerings, including Business Class Americas across 100% of Avianca's routes within the Americas; new benefits for Economy travelers, including carry-on baggage and food and beverages included on international flights within the Americas of more than 3.5 hours. The airline is also progressively rolling out onboard Wi-Fi; expanding its entertainment offering; and preparing the next evolution of INSIGNIA by Avianca, the airline's long-haul Business Class experience available on flights to and from Europe and on New York flights operated with Boeing 787 aircraft.
The enhancements are complemented by Avianca's extensive connectivity from the United States. The airline currently operates more than 400 weekly flights and 41 routes from the U.S. to destinations across South America and Central America. During the first half of 2026, Avianca transported more than 2.57 million passengers to and from the United States, representing a 9.2% increase compared with the same period in 2025.
Business Class Across the Americas
Business Class Americas is now available on 100% of Avianca's routes within the Americas, including international routes and domestic flights in Colombia, Ecuador and Guatemala.
Customers traveling in Business Class Americas receive priority services on the ground, access to Avianca and Star Alliance lounges, additional baggage allowance, LifeMiles accrual and seating within the first three rows of the aircraft. Onboard service is tailored according to the duration of each flight.
The expansion gives travelers flying between the United States and Latin America access to a premium cabin across Avianca's network within the region, complementing the airline's long-haul INSIGNIA by Avianca experience.
More Benefits for Economy Travelers
Avianca is also introducing enhancements across its Economy experience as part of its "Más para Todos" ("More for Everyone") initiative, giving customers additional benefits throughout their journey.
A 22-pound carry-on bag is now included in all fares on international flights, including flights to and from the United States. Avianca has also introduced food and beverages on international flights within the Americas lasting more than 3.5 hours, while continuing to offer its Café del Cielo onboard sales service.
The airline is also progressively implementing Wi-Fi connectivity across its fleet and strengthening Avianca On Air, its onboard entertainment offering. The entertainment portfolio includes content from HBO Max, Sony Entertainment, Warner Bros., A24, Paramount, Formula 1 TV and LEGO.
The Next Evolution of INSIGNIA by Avianca
Avianca is also preparing the next evolution of INSIGNIA by Avianca, its Business Class experience available on flights to and from Europe (Madrid, Barcelona, Londres and Paris) and on New York flights operated with Boeing 787 aircraft.
In 2027 Avianca will unveil the first aircraft featuring the new INSIGNIA cabin, marking the next evolution of its long-haul premium experience. The redesigned cabin will introduce private suites with sliding doors and fully lie-flat seats with 180-degree recline, complemented by new pajamas designed by Maaji and Meridian noise-canceling headphones.
On flights from Bogotá to Europe, customers will also receive Mola Sasa amenity kits developed with artisans from the Chimichagua community and complemented by Loto del Sur products. The onboard dining experience will feature a renewed menu created by chefs Álvaro Clavijo and Rafael Buitrago, inspired by Latin American flavors, along with updated tableware.
On the ground, Avianca is enhancing the premium experience with INSIGNIA by Avianca Check-In at El Dorado International Airport, providing specialized service and personalized assistance for INSIGNIA customers as well as Lifemiles Diamond and Magno members.
An Enhanced Experience From the Airport to the Aircraft
Avianca's investment extends beyond the cabin. The airline continues to renew its network of 12 VIP lounges across Colombia, El Salvador and the United States, incorporating new concepts in gastronomy, wellness, design and technology.
The airline has also introduced Magno, the highest LifeMiles status level, which provides benefits including INSIGNIA by Avianca Check-In, personalized WhatsApp service, unlimited lounge access for the member and up to four guests, Fast Track at selected airports, priority pre-boarding and selected Business Class upgrades.
