Americas Cardroom is moving ScreenShield from a targeted precaution to a default layer of player protection. Beginning November 4, the feature will be switched on automatically for players across Winning Poker Network.
ScreenShield protects WPN poker-table content from the screen-capture and screen-sharing methods the technology covers. Nothing changes on the player's table: cards, action and gameplay remain visible as normal. What changes is what supported external capture tools can see.
The rollout also keeps the practical needs of poker players in view. ScreenShield will have a dedicated control in the client Settings page, so players who intentionally need to stream, record a session, create content or work with a coach can turn it off themselves.
WPN is considering whether to go further. The network is evaluating a broader policy that could prohibit third-party software from being used alongside the poker client. The review is not a finalized ban; it is an assessment of whether tighter software restrictions could reduce security and Game Integrity risks without creating unnecessary disruption for legitimate player use cases.
The shift to default-on protection follows an extensive review of the remote-access software concerns that prompted WPN's earlier precautionary actions. The Game Integrity team examined more than 2,000,000 hands from players whose devices had MeshAgent detected and found no evidence that any reviewed player was using hole-card knowledge while playing on WPN.
Approximately 200,000 of those hands belonged to Paul Gregg, who had been identified by members of the high-stakes community during the public discussion. WPN's review found no evidence that Gregg could see an opponent's hole cards or was making decisions with hole-card knowledge on the network.
WPN separately closed Gregg's account after reviewing broader information gathered during the investigation and through communication with other operators. The network has emphasized that the account decision was separate from its gameplay finding.
WPN has also shared information with other online poker operators about how this type of ScreenShield protection can be implemented, reflecting its view that player security benefits from cooperation across the industry.
